The text of the book is based on Cornell University's Lab of Ornithology's Birds of North America series. The audio feature of the book is derived from bird recordings from Cornell's Library of Natural Sounds.
Artwork for the book is provided by four outstanding bird artists: John Sill, Diane Pierce, David Nurney, and Douglas Pratt.
